As floodwaters rise along the banks of the Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej rivers, Alkhidmat Foundation has mobilized a massive relief operation to protect and heal the displaced families. From the heart of Narowal to the remote stretches of the river belts, the mission is clear: save lives and restore health.
The Jassar Medical Camp: A Beacon of Hope
In Jassar, Narowal, the situation remains critical. To meet the urgent health needs of those displaced by the water, Alkhidmat Foundation has established a dedicated medical camp.
The camp is a hive of activity where:
- Expert Care: Two doctors and two paramedics are on-site daily.
- Massive Outreach: The team examines approximately 300 flood victims every day, treating everything from waterborne diseases to physical injuries.
- Essential Medicine: Every patient receives the necessary medication free of charge to ensure their recovery isn’t stalled by financial hardship.
A Triple-River Response: Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej
While the medical teams heal, the rescue teams are battling the currents. Alkhidmat Foundation has deployed thousands of volunteers across the flood-hit areas of the Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej rivers. This large-scale operation includes:
- Search and Rescue: Moving stranded families from submerged villages to secure, dry land.
- Immediate Relief: Distributing cooked meals and clean drinking water to prevent hunger and dehydration.
- Emergency Shelter: Providing tents to those who have lost their homes, ensuring they have a place to rest with dignity.
