Feeding Hope Pakistani Charities Bridge the Gap to Gaza this Eid Al Adha
As the holy festival of Eid Al Adha approaches the spirit of sacrifice is taking on a profound new meaning for many in Pakistan. Amidst a worsening humanitarian crisis and the threat of imminent famine in the Gaza Strip major Pakistani relief organizations are mobilizing to ensure that the traditional meat of the Qurbani reaches those who need it most.

A Mission Born of Necessity
With over 2.3 million people in Gaza facing extreme food insecurity and the death toll from the ongoing conflict surpassing 35000 this Eid marks a somber milestone. The closure and disruption of key aid routes such as the Rafah crossing have made traditional relief efforts nearly impossible.

In response Pakistani charities are getting creative turning a logistical nightmare into a lifeline of nutrition.

How the Relief is Being Managed
Sending raw meat into a conflict zone with limited electricity and infrastructure is not feasible. To solve this organizations like the Al Khidmat Foundation and the Khadija tul Kubra Welfare Trust are employing a two pronged strategy

Regional Slaughtering Al Khidmat is arranging for large scale sacrifices in Egypt allowing for a shorter more direct supply chain into Gaza.

Ready to Eat Technology In Karachi thousands of animals will be slaughtered and the meat handed over to specialized catering companies. The meat is dried cooked and sealed in long shelf life tin packs.

International Collaboration Al Khidmat is partnering with Turkish NGOs to streamline the shipping process ensuring the canned meat survives the journey and remains safe for consumption upon arrival.

The meat from Pakistan will be converted into ready to eat form before dispatching it because sending raw meat is very difficult says Qazi Sadaruddin. He expects 3000 to 4000 animals to be slaughtered and converted.

A Global Call to Action
The demand from the public has been overwhelming. It is not just residents within Pakistan who are contributing queries and funds are pouring in from the Pakistani diaspora in the UK Saudi Arabia and beyond. For many donors the choice is simple. They are in dire need of food right now.

The Impact at a Glance
Target Population 2.3 million people in Gaza
Estimated Sacrifice 3000 to 4000 animals via Al Khidmat alone
Processing Method Canned Tinned ready to eat meat
Key Entry Points Egypt and Turkish maritime routes
