The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre has officially launched its 2026 Zakat Campaign focusing on the incredible resilience of cancer survivors and the life saving power of your donations

During a recent press conference Dr Aasim Yusuf the Chief Medical Officer shared that the impact of public generosity has never been greater In 2025 alone the hospital provided free cancer treatment worth Rs 20 billion with Zakat contributions covering nearly half of that cost

Since the very beginning Shaukat Khanum has spent over Rs 125 billion on free treatment for patients in need This mission is built on the foundation of equity ensuring every patient receives the same world class care regardless of their financial status

To ensure your donations are handled with care the hospital maintains the highest standards of transparency

  • Shariah Compliance The Zakat system is independently certified and all Zakat collected is fully utilized within the same year for patient treatment

  • Independent Audits Accounts are audited annually by AF Ferguson and Co and the Trust is certified by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy

Looking Ahead The Road to Karachi and Beyond

The 2026 budget for the Trust is set at Rs 43 billion This budget supports ongoing clinical services and the exciting expansion of the mission The construction of the third and largest Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Karachi is moving forward steadily and is expected to open its doors later this year
