In a heartwarming effort to bring festive joy and community warmth to children under its care, Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa organized a comprehensive Eid celebration for orphaned children and their families in Peshawar.

Empowering Young Hearts Through Choice and Dignity

The festivities began at a prominent shopping mall in Peshawar, where children enrolled in Alkhidmat’s Orphan Care Program were treated to an interactive shopping experience.

Rather than receiving fixed relief packs, each child was given the freedom to hand-pick their own holiday essentials. The young shoppers spent the day selecting:

  • Festive Outfits & Footwear: Picking out brand-new clothes and shoes in their preferred colors and designs for Eid day.

  • Traditional Accessories: Choosing colorful bangles, henna, and holiday trinkets to embrace the cultural spirit of the occasion.

  • Toys & Gifts: Selecting personal items and games that brought genuine excitement and big smiles.

By prioritizing personal choice, Alkhidmat ensures that these young children experience the holiday season with the exact same excitement, pride, and dignity as any other child.

Grand Iftar, Eid Gifts, and Direct Financial Support

The celebration continued with a special Grand Iftar Ceremony organized for the children and their mothers. The evening served as a dedicated space to honor the resilience of these families while extending direct practical relief.

During the gathering, leadership teams distributed curated Eid gift hampers alongside direct financial support to help widowed mothers manage household expenses and holiday preparations without financial anxiety.

Civic Leadership and Community Solidarity

Highlighting the widespread community support for the initiative, a 15-member business delegation from the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI)—led by SCCI President Fazal Moqeem Khan—alongside popular digital creators from PK Vine, joined the children for the Iftar meal at Aghosh Alkhidmat Peshawar.

Key leadership figures, including Abdul Wasi (Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami KP Central) and Khalid Waqas (Provincial President of Alkhidmat Foundation KP), welcomed the guests and walked through the facilities.

The presence of business leaders, civil society representatives, and youth influencers reinforced a powerful message: these children are an integral part of the broader community, supported by a network of care, compassion, and shared responsibility.
