While most of us seek the comfort of our heaters during the peak of winter, a group of heroes is heading in the opposite direction—straight into the freezing heart of the mountains.

In the remote, snow-blanketed reaches of Naltar Valley, Gilgit, Alkhidmat Foundation volunteers are currently trekking through knee-deep snow. Their mission? To ensure that the “biting cold” doesn’t become a death sentence for underprivileged families living in isolation.

The Last Mile of Humanity
The Naltar Valley is breathtakingly beautiful, but in winter, it is unforgiving. Many families here are cut off from main supply lines due to heavy snowfall. Alkhidmat’s dedicated teams are crossing these treacherous terrains to deliver Winter Packs, ensuring that no child goes to sleep shivering.

What is inside an Alkhidmat Winter Pack?
To protect a family from sub-zero temperatures, Alkhidmat provides a comprehensive kit designed for survival:

Warm Clothing: Heavy jackets, sweaters, and thermal wear for children and adults.

Bedding: High-quality quilts and thick blankets.

Protection: Water-resistant bedding and shawls to combat the mountain frost.

A Nationwide Mission
While the images from Gilgit are striking, the need is nationwide. From the foggy plains of Punjab to the rocky deserts of Balochistan, millions are currently waiting for a blanket of hope.

“We don’t just deliver packs; we deliver the warmth of a nation that cares. When a volunteer climbs a mountain in Gilgit, he carries the prayers of every donor with him.” — Alkhidmat Volunteer Coordination Team
